Facebook user growth in American markets may be falling, but that the scene is opposite Asia-Pacific. In 2018, Facebook’s users in the region will increase 13.4%—nearly double the rate of worldwide additions—reaching 663.0 million users. India will initiate this jump, climbing 17.3% and valuing for almost one-third of users in the region.
Facebook’s expansion in India is a result of an launch of more affordable mobile services like Relaince Jio and its cheap plans, which motivated users to sign up on facebook. From 2016 to 2018, the percentage of moible internet subscribers grew from 24% to 32% of population.
With growing mobile users, many of these new internet users also signed up for Facebook. New mobiles are coming with Facebook Lite preinstalled was great. During the same 2-year period, Facebook’s share of the population rose from 11.4% to 16.7%. By 2022, continued adoption of mobile internet will further Facebook’s reach to 25.0% of India’s population.
